Urban Farming at Governor’s Island

An amazing day of cycling and urban farming fun at Governor’s Island with our Chinaton YMCA NYC Beacon Program!

The sun finally came out…!

So proud of our Beacon students and thankful for all of the support of the mentors, YMCA staff, and CitiBike! They did a few drills in the gym until the clouds parted and were able to get in a good ride to the Brooklyn Bridge!

Rutgers is now up and cycling!

We were very excited to start up our second location with the Chinatown YMCA at Rutgers! We kicked it off with a short ride to the Brooklyn Bridge and worked on setting our 2015 goals! Great group of mentees and mentors!

Yoga With Kirby!

Our Beacon students and mentors got their stretch on with Kirby of Yoga With Kirby! Very important to keep the muscles and mind in tip top shape. First ride and 4 miles ridden.

Getting Season 2 started…!

Kicking off the 2015 season with our YMCA Beacon Mentors and Mentees. Vision Boards and goal setting!:)

From refugee to global tech exec and inspiring leader!

We are very grateful to have had SAP’s very own Denise Vu Broady, COO Industry Cloud and Sarah Harvey Global Affairs come share their time and Denise’s story with our students and the YMCA. A huge thank you to both women, to SAP, and to Denise for sharing her truly inspiring story with our students. Education is Freedom.
